Confidence and Rejection: Demystifying the Dating Game

Introduction

If you lack confidence in dating, don’t worry—it's not about your character. You just need more practice to gain more wins. Let's break down what real confidence is and how to handle rejection like a pro.

What is Confidence?

Confidence is the realistic expectation you have about succeeding at something. It's tied to your skill and the risk involved. Confidence is about real-world results. It's not "fake it till you make it." Your brain knows the truth. If you feel you're bad at something, you can't trick yourself into confidence.

Tucker Max’s Take

I was reading Tucker Max's Mate and found a gem. Confidence only comes from experience and competence. Your subconscious brain plays a big role. If you don’t really believe you're good, you won’t be confident. You can’t fool your own mind.

Why Practice Matters

If you don't do well, it's a sign you're practicing wrong or getting bad advice. Get some coaching and learn the right way to build confidence. For example, if you're a rookie at baseball, you shouldn't expect to hit like a pro.

Let’s Talk Rejection

Women don’t like rejecting men. They want to exit the situation as politely as possible. But most guys miss the signals. When she acts businesslike or avoids eye contact, that's a sign. Next, she’ll give you the cold shoulder. If you still don’t get it, she'll be direct.

Reading Rejection Signals

  1. Passive Manner: One-word answers, no eye contact.

  2. Cold Shoulder: She starts being actively dismissive.

  3. Being Direct: If you haven't gotten the hint, she’ll say it straight.

Should I Hit on Less Attractive Girls?

Here's a surprise: hotter girls are usually better at rejecting guys. They have more experience. So, going for less attractive girls to "warm up" doesn’t really help. It might make the rejections even worse.

Dating is Different for Men and Women

Women get hit on a lot. By the time they're 18, they've got tons of experience rejecting guys. Most men can't say the same. The key? Learn to read her signals. She's usually trying to let you down easy.

My Experience

I had to hit on 33 women just to get a single number for a coaching video. Even then, it was a pity number. Watch the video here:

Pro Tip for Number Exchange

Here’s a smooth move when asking for her number: “Give me your number, or if you don't like me, give me a fake one.” She’ll laugh and it'll lighten the mood.
